The Punta Tombo penguin colony is located approximately 185 kilometers south of the city of Puerto Madryn, on the Atlantic coast of Argentina. As one of the largest Magellanic penguin colonies in the world, it is a popular destination for tourists interested in wildlife observation.

Leaving in the morning from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn (or if you prefer, from Trelew or Puerto Pirámides), we will embark on a journey southward that will take approximately two hours, traversing the landscapes of the vast Patagonian steppe.

Upon arriving at Punta Tombo, we will be greeted by thousands of penguins inhabiting this wonderful reserve. We will spend over two hours exploring the trails and visiting the Visitor Center, where we will learn about the life and habits of these charming seabirds.

In addition to penguins, Punta Tombo is home to a wide variety of seabirds and other wildlife species, such as guanacos, rheas, maras, armadillos, skunks, and tinamous. We will be able to enjoy the biodiversity of this unique ecosystem as we explore its trails.

Lunch will be an experience of your choice, providing you with the freedom to enjoy your meals according to your preferences. You will have access to the available facilities on site, which include a cozy café-restaurant, restrooms, and trails to explore and enjoy the Patagonian winds.

Visiting Punta Tombo is a unique experience that allows you to connect with nature in its most authentic form. Observing the penguins in their natural habitat is a touching and educational experience for all ages.
