Isla Escondida

0

Located 120 kilometers south of Puerto Madryn and 55 kilometers from the nearest city (Rawson), lies the remote Isla Escondida. This beach, nestled amidst the vast Patagonian steppe, offers an experience far from conventional tourism and showcases the characteristic cliff landscapes of the Patagonian coast.

In addition to the beauty of this site, visitors have the opportunity to share the beach with a colony of Southern Elephant Seals during their breeding and reproductive season.

The Southern Elephant Seal is the largest species of seal in the world and can reach impressive dimensions, measuring up to 5 meters in length and weighing up to 4 tons. Sharing the beach with these majestic creatures is an experience that will last forever in your memory. Behaviors that we can witness include territorial fights among alpha males, females nursing their pups, births, individuals resting, mating, and during the summer we can see them molting their skin.
