DAY 1: RECS –Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve. Pick up and meeting with the Argentina Wild Expeditions staff at the Buenos Aires airport, or alternatively at the hotel. The rest of the day is dedicated to bird watching at the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve. Night in Buenos Aires.

DAY 2: Ceibas.
Ceibas is a town located in the southern part of Entre Ríos province, and its wetlands and grasslands allow us to spot over 100 bird species in a single day, including endemic and/or hard-to-spot ones. On this day, we cover approximately 300 kilometers. Overnight stay in Ceibas.

DAY 3: El Palmar National Park. After driving about 200 kilometers, we will arrive at El Palmar National Park, wich protects an area of over 8,000 hectares, including one of the last places where it is possible to find the Yatay palm tree. There, we will explore an environment very different from the rest of the trip, highly favorable for finding raptor birds, as well as several passerines and Greaer Rhea, Crab-eating fox, among other animals. DAYS 4 TO 7: Iberá Wetlands. After traveling a distance of 450 kilometers, we will arrive at Colonia Carlos Pellegrini. The fauna present in the last 40 kilometers before our arrival at the colony will let us know that we are approaching the gateway to the incredible Iberá Wetlands.

The Iberá Wetland is the second largest wetland in the world, hosting a tropical and subtropical ecosystem with enormous biodiversity.

During our stay in Iberá, we will navigate the estuaries in the morning and afternoon, watching a wide variety of birdlife. We will explore the Corrientes Stream and the Miriñay River; we will look for emblematic species such as the Yellow Cardinal, Cream-backed Woodpecker, Strage-tailed Tyrant, Jabiru, and the endemic Iberá Seedeater. (Sporophila iberaensis), among others; we will visit the Iberá National Park and the Iberá Provincial Park. In these locations, we will be able to observe a wide diversity of birdlife as well as Yacare and broad-snouted caimans, and mammals such as the Marsh Deer, Commond Brown-Brocket Deer, Howler Monkey, Nine-Banded Armadillo, among others. 

On day 7, we depart early in the morning towards the town of San Pedro (Province of Misiones), taking the opportunity to observe species along a 450km route. Overnight stay in San Pedro, Misiones.

DAY 8: San Pedro. Early in the morning, we will visit one of the places with the greatest birdlife in Misiones: the Cruce Caballero Provincial Park. In the afternoon, we will explore the La Araucaria Provincial Park. This day is focused on hummingbirds, tinamous, nightjars, swifts, kites, hawks, parrots, among other incredible species that you can discover in the checklist at the end of the text. Overnight stay in San Pedro.

DAY 9: Iguazú. We continue our journey north towards Iguazú. After a journey of approximately 200km, we will arrive at the Hummingbird Garden, a place as small as it is incredible, where around a dozen species of hummingbirds can be observed. The journey continues to Karadya Birding Lodge, our base in Misiones, located within a reserve where more than 300 bird species can be found.

DAY 10: Karadya Birding Lodge. Full day dedicated to exploring the Karadya reserve and its various habitats. Overnight stay at Karadya Birding Lodge.

DAY 11: Iguazú National Park. We will spend a full day exploring Iguazú National Park, which preserves a vast sample of the Atlantic Forest ecoregion and where we can enjoy one of the most impressive waterfalls in the world: the famous Iguazú Falls! In this protected area, we can spot some of the most emblematic species of the country and the region. The park is also a habitat for threatened species such as the Jaguar, Geoffroy Sain-Hilaire, Lowland Tapir, Ocelot, Giant Anteater, Harpy Eagle, among others.

Among the bird species that we can observe are the Great Dusky Swift, Toco Toucan, Black-fronted Piping Guan (endangered), kingfishers (4 species), Anhinga, among others. Overnight stay at Karadya Birding Lodge."

DAY 12: Urugua-í Provincial Park. Early in the morning, we will visit the Urugua-í Provincial Park, a very important site for populations of endangered animals such as the Jaguar, the Tapir, and our target species, the Yacutinga or Black-Fronted Pipin-guan. This is where we will have great chances to spot this endangered species." 

In the afternoon, we will transfer to Iguazú Airport, concluding this great experience with a checklist full of birds.
