"Birdwatching is an activity that leads us to travel through countless natural environments in search of the species described in our field guides. Those of us who venture into this world know that we must explore to the ends of the continent." - ARGENTINA WILD EXPEDITIONS.
Ushuaia immerses us in birdwatching through the southernmost landscapes of the continent, combining the Andes Mountains, Patagonian grasslands, shrub steppes, southern beech forests, and the coast of the Beagle Channel.
On a journey with us, you will explore the untamed beauty of Tierra del Fuego. Whether you're witnessing the impressive Magellanic Woodpecker in a towering Nothofagus forest, walking among penguins, or marveling at the Andean condors soaring above us, each moment is a testament to the wonders of nature.
During our stay in Ushuaia, we will explore the best birdwatching spots, both on land and sailing through the Beagle Channel. We'll venture into the surrounding areas of Ushuaia, including the Harberton Ranch, embarking on a crossing to Martillo Island to reach a penguin colony, and visit the iconic Tierra del Fuego National Park.
Additionally, we can extend the journey by heading to Río Grande, an area inhabited by two endangered species, the Magellanic Plover and the Ruddy-headed Goose.
During this expedition, we will take the opportunity to explore Tierra del Fuego National Park and its diverse environments. It's an excellent place to spend a full day exploring trails through the dense Southern Beech Forest. Home to the impressive Magellanic Woodpecker, the White-throated Treerunner, and the Thorn-tailed Rayadito, among other magnificent species.
In the rivers and lakes, there are good opportunities to spot ducks, such as the Spectacled Duck, the Great Grebe, and the Flying Steamer-Duck. Always on the lookout, we'll search above our heads for the majestic king of the Andes, the Andean Condor.
